The red sandalwood plant, also known as Pterocarpus santalinus, is a small to medium-sized tree with a straight trunk and a dense crown of pinnate leaves that are typically green in color. It can grow up to 26 ft (8 m) tall and has a trunk diameter of 50–150 cm. The red sandalwood plant is native to the southern parts of India, particularly the regions of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
